EcoFair Trade Dialogue project

In March 2010, Glopolis became a partner of EcoFair Trade Dialogue which is financed by the means of the European Union. Other partners of this project are Heinrich Böll Stiftung and Misereor. The primary goal of EcoFair Trade Dialogue is functioning of fair and sustainable world trading system and fulfilling of the Millennium Development Goals, especially eradication of poverty and hunger and ensuring of global partnership for development.

Duration: 2010 – 2013

Main goal of the project

1. Build a coalition of Europeans organizations in order to strengthen the public debate on fair and sustainable world trading rules.
2. Address representatives of developing countries who will become EcoFair Trade Ambassadors and contribute to the theoretical debate with their own experience, empirical data and personal analysis. 
3. Enhance the civil society knowledge in the field of trade and agricultural problems through the support of the Policy Coherence for Development.

Main activities and outputs

• International conferences in Prague and Berlin with participation of foreign experts from developing countries
• Workshops pro broad public, journalists, policy-makers, non-governmental organizations, Europeans farmers and agricultural associations representatives 
• Parliamentary hearing in the Czech Parliament, the German Parliament and the European Parliament with participation of EcoFair Trade Ambassadors 
• Policy papers further deepening the particular aspects of common position 
• Studies on specific aspects of developing questions connected with World Trade Organization (WTO) activities and Economic Partnership Agreements (EPAs)
