Glopolis is a non-partisan, non-governmental organization which focuses on the analysis of economic globalization, trade, development, agriculture and climate change.

Climate Change nad Poverty Reduction project

As of March 2010 Glopolis is a partner in the three year project titled “Climate Change nad Poverty Reduction: Building Awareness and Promoting Action”. Together with CAN - Europe (Belgium), Practical Action (Great Britain) and Germanwatch (Germany), Glopolis will try to ensure a viable, equitable global framework that prevents dangerous climate change and addresses the needs of people in the developing world. The project is co-funded by the European Union.

Duration: 03/2010 – 03/2013

Main objectives

Raise awareness of the impact of climate change on vulnerable people in developing countries amongst the general public, school students and the people around the decision makers and equip them with the necessary information and motivation to engage with final decision makers.

  • Photo exhibition illustrating how communities in the South adapt to climate change
  • Expert papers and reports to aid lobbying
  • Parliamentary events
  • Climate watch reports including recommendations for Czech officials responsible for setting the development policy
  • Workshops focused on the concrete needs of Polish and Hungarian NGOs active in advocacy work
  • Case study on Ethiopia
