Location: European House, Jungmannova 24, 110 00 Prague 1(http://goo.gl/maps/avh8o)
The Glopolis analytical centre in cooperation with CAN-Europe, Oxfam Deutchland and DanChurchAid will host a seminar for non-governmental organisations on the issue of climate finance, with a special focus on the role of the private sector, accountability and exchange of advocacy experience. The seminar will introduce the issue, give an update on the global and EU state of play in climate financing and deepen the knowledge and competence of civil society.
The aim of the event is to create space for sharing advocacy experience, connect campaigners from Central and Eastern Europe and potentially facilitate responsible policies, attitudes and solutions to securing finance for climate change mitigation and adaptation.
How can civil society communicate the importance of the EU’s responsibility towards climate finance during economic crises? What is the current state of play at the international and EU level? What is the role of the private sector in financing mitigation and adaptation in developing countries? What are the pitfalls and obstacles to transparent reporting of climate finance? Is development cooperation being hijacked by climate finance?
The event will be conducted in English.
Attendance at the seminar is limited. RSVP by 14 September 2012 to email@example.com We can cover travel and accommodation costs upon prior agreement.
