Invitation: Discussion "Should We Tame Financial Markets?

Place: New York University in Prague, Richter Hall, Malé náměstí 11, Prague 1.

To what extent is the blame placed on the financial sector for the current problems caused by the emotions of people affected by the crisis or by the attempts of politicians to be re-elected, and to what extent can it be backed up by real arguments? What role should financial markets play in today's economy and what changes are necessary for that to happen? To what extent can proposals such as the taxing of financial transactions or stricter regulation of the financial sector resolve the current problems?

Coming to discuss these and other questions are
