Glopolis is a non-partisan, non-governmental organization which focuses on the analysis of economic globalization, trade, development, agriculture and climate change.
On 14 December 2011, the Glopolis analytical centre in cooperation with the UN Information Centre held the seminar entitled Biofuel: Opportunities, Risks and Impacts on Developing Countries.

The seminar addressed the issue of biofuels with regard to the situation in the Czech Republic and presented the relationship between EU policies for the support of biofuels and land grabs in developing countries. Experts Ladislav Jelínek, Tomáš Medonos (both from the Institute of Agricultural Economics and Information), Jiří Trnka (CZ Biom) and Sylvain Aubry (FIAN, independent consultant) assessed the energy, economic and ecological and development aspects of biofuel. A total of 28 people gave a presentation or participated in the seminar.
